Construction Superintendent – Hemenway Construction (Boston, MA)
Hemenway Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to manage 1-3 commercial projects valued at $5M–$15M each. The ideal candidate is a licensed Massachusetts Construction Supervisor with a strong background in managing safety, quality control, and scheduling in occupied and high-performance commercial spaces.
Key Responsibilities
· Project Leadership: Oversee daily site operations, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards.
· Safety & Compliance: Enforce job site safety protocols and maintain compliance with all regulations.
· Subcontractor Management: Empower and coordinate foremen and subcontractors to optimize efficiency and maintain job site organization.
· Quality Control: Ensure all construction work meets or exceeds design plans and code standards.
· Communication & Coordination: Conduct daily 8 AM stand-up meetings with trade foremen and hold weekly progress meetings with the project manager and subcontractors.
· Problem-Solving & Decision Making: Address site issues, issue RFIs, and communicate potential change orders, delays, or cost impacts immediately.
· Scheduling & Inspections: Maintain a 3-week look-ahead schedule, call for and prepare sites for inspections, and ensure all work is ready for approval.
· Site Management: Oversee job site signage, cleanliness, and security.
